You bring mobile security talent and expertise to a fast-paced environment where you will be relied upon to partner with our talented software development teams in building secure mobile applications.As a Mobile Security Engineer, you’ll be a technical leader within a highly skilled team, focusing on elevating Amazon’s mobile application security portfolio. Your role involves closely collaborating with software development teams to ensure the safety of our customers as we develop innovative apps. Daily tasks may include examining app code for security improvements, devising new frameworks to aid our developers in creating faster and more secure software, or adjusting the design of a new app in partnership with its developers. Your efforts will play a crucial role in implementing processes that enhance the security of our mobile applications through research, security bug analysis, risk assessments, automation development, documentation, and crafting tools and solutions for security enhancement and risk mitigation.Key job responsibilities

You will create, update, and maintain threat models for a wide variety of software projects.

You will perform manual and automated code review, primarily in Java, Objective-C, Swift and Kotlin.

You will develop mobile security automation tools.

You will perform mobile security training and outreach for internal development teams.

You will provide mobile security architecture and design guidance.

You will independently solve mobile security problems that require novel methods or approaches.

You will influence your team’s and partners’ process, priorities, and choices to improve outcomes.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Minimum of 2+ years of experience with at least one of the following: mobile application security, threat modeling, secure coding, software development, and penetration testing.

Technical understanding of the OWASP Mobile

Experience reading and writing code in at least one programming language (such as, Java, Kotlin, Objective C, Swift, Python).

Preferred Qualifications

You demonstrate judgement in assessing and prioritizing technical risk.

Experience in building mobile application detection tools

Experience collaborating with framework development teams to build security capabilities

The base pay for this position ranges from $135,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.
