Summary This position is to the Recreation Division; Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). The purpose of this position is to serve as an administrative assistant for the assigned Personal Storage, Naval Base Coronado. Responsibilities Prepares and maintains required administrative reports and forms, such as utilization data, financial forms, procurement forms and invoices. Maintains a current knowledge of daily operations of facility, answer questions from patrons. Receives telephone calls and provides referrals to other departments, as appropriate. Maintains effective controls for receipt and safe keeping of all cash associated with the fees and sales of the Personal Storage Facility. Monitors use of supplies to assure internal controls and account ability are maintained. Ensures that resources are protected against theft and abuse. Maintains various files, regulations, manuals and directives related to personal storage operations. Prepares and reviews outgoing correspondences and reports ensuring proper format. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Maintains and coordinates the master event schedule for all programs at the facility. Ensures that all changes are reported to their immediate supervisor. Responsible for ensuring that all events, program schedules and personal storage information are sent to the marketing office month to get advertised. Performs other related duties as assigned Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Knowledge of the goals, philosophy, principles, and methods of procedures used in organizing, planning, administrating and conducting facility operations. Knowledgeable of guidelines concerning Personal Storage Operations. Experience in responsible clerical support work which demonstrate ability to perform the work of the position under general supervision of the personal storage manager. Ability to follow instructions, present options and recommend solutions. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to effectively communicate and follow instructions both orally and in writing. Must be skilled in customer service techniques, tact and good judgment. Ability to operate a personal computer and perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and site-specific software. Performs other duties as assigned. Education 1 year general experience OR 2 years' education above high school OR An equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Information Executive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
