Role: Database Engineer with Oracle Location: San Jose, CA-Onsite -hybrid Duration: 12+ Months Job Description: Requirements and Skills: Key Skills: Oracle (RAC) 12c/19c, OEM
- Analytical ability to resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment is needed.
- Deep Subject matter expertise in Oracle 12C/19C Administration
- Oracle RAC, Performance tuning, Monitoring (OEM, Splunk, Prometheus), Capacity Planning, Query optimization
- Deep experience with databases hosted on AIX / Linux /is must.
- Experience and extensive exposure to OS and compute virtualization concepts is required.
- Strong knowledge of RMAN and other migration tool/utilities.
- Extensive experience with various DR and HA solutions/Architecture
- Be able to work independently and within a team in a high demand and dynamic environment
- Analyze and resolve problems involving interaction between applications, server hardware/firmware/OS and Database by working with cross functional teams and equipment vendors.
- Contribute to a variety of documentation such as strategies, plans, designs, configuration standards, metrics, etc.
- Manage Oracle (RAC) databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
- Solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Independently analyze
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Provide 24x5 support
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
- Planning out strategies for DB migration, DB consolidation and driving it end to end.
- Provide a high level of technical expertise, advice and guidance on technology aspects of database and application delivery services to management and other technical staff.
- Participate in and contribute to Release activities including Spec reviews.
