Key Responsibilities: This job contributes to and supports the company's research and development efforts to create high-value therapeutics to address unmet medical needs. Responsible for the technical design and implementation of new computer systems and frameworks. Additional responsibilities include configuration, maintenance, monitoring and ensuring reliable operation of computer systems, networks and servers running in my client's physical and cloud data centers. Serves as a technical expert, escalation point and collaborator in the area of system administration to actively resolve problems and issues with computer, servers, storage and network systems to limit work disruptions within the company. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively applies professional knowledge and experiences to contribute to development of company's concepts and principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective way.
  • Technical leadership to support internal project teams and vendors with planning, design, architecture and implementation of projects for computer operations and enterprise-wide system deployments.
  • Exercises independent judgment in planning, developing test & installation methods including custom scripts, operational procedures and evaluation criteria for obtaining results and to ensure operational consistency and reliability.
  • Provides guidance on extremely complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.
  • Manages the day-to-day, 24x7x365 operations of the client's Data Center, Computer, Network and Storage Systems by monitoring system availability, access, configuration, maintenance, performance and repair including system firmware and software updates.
  • Participates in on call rotation as needed.
  • Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
  • Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired. May guide or provide work direction to technical staff, contract staff and/or interns.
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for my client to take advantage of new technology.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems or relevant discipline is required. Equivalent experience may be accepted. A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience is required. Previous experience working in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry is preferred.
  • Advance experience implementing and supporting two or more of the following technologies required: Microsoft Cloud Technologies (Azure, Compute + Networking Resources, O365, ATP, PIM, SSO, etc.), Amazon Web Services (Compute Workload, Groups, Accounts, SSO, IAM, VPC, etc.) Exchange Online, SCCM, SCOM, OMS, VMware vSphere, CommVault, Cohesity, Meraki Managed Cloud Switches, Cisco Nexus Switches, APC Power & Cooling including the InfraStruXure management system, HPe Storage, Palo Alto Networks (End Point and VPN), LogicMonitor, etc.
  • Azure Administrator Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator, MCSE, and PMP certifications preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
  • Ability to: Plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with corporate policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
