Job Description: General Summary:
The Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the companys networks, servers, workstations, databases, user account administration, infrastructure implementation and maintenance, instance right sizing, monitoring and operational maintenance with a strong security focus.
Looking for an individual which is extremely hands-on, but also looking to take on the move towards IT leadership. This role assists in the creation of strategic and long-term planning. Will be the key support for a single operational site as well as systems built in Amazon Web Services. Responsible for OSI 1 through 7 on business-critical applications, system monitoring, contingency planning, security, performance tuning, software distribution, and production support. The site and AWS services are maintained by a Third-Party Service Provider, but this role will be essential to providing guidance, oversight and accountability to the Third-Party Service Provider and other service providers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate, install, debug, audit, maintain, and document a mostly Microsoft server/laptop environment.
AWS instance administration.
Establish system baselines and network configurations necessary to bring about optimal network performance
Maintain Network switches, firewalls and Cisco Firepower IDS
Create and maintain server and application monitoring.
Maintains licenses and registrations of network and user software.
Manage the development, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade and support of IT systems, including site data closets.
Configure PCI-compliant environment and support annual assessment activities.
Participate in a Change Management environment with the Operations technical team.
Deploy DR, rapid instance swaps and business continuity strategies.
Configure and automate security vulnerability remediations.
Vendor Management
Ability to work, collaborate, and communicate well in a team-based environment.
Other Responsibilities:
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Other duties / responsibilities may be assigned to this position at the managers discretion.

Experience and Skills: (Evaluation Factors: Skills/Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities))
Skills/Knowledge
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft server stack, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Certificates and Clustering. Microsoft MCSE preferred.
Demonstrable experience managing an upgrade from Functional Domain 2008 to higher levels
Strong technical knowledge of network and server operating systems, as well as strong troubleshooting skills.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of AWS architectures, especially EC2/EBS/RDS
Experience administrating an Office 365 Tenancy including building mailboxes, setting up mail routing rules, anti-spam/security measures and administrating SharePoint/OneDrive/Teams.
Demonstrable analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to plan, document, install and effectively implement complex server software across heterogeneous server environments.
Ability to diagnose server and network problems effectively to resolve issues.
Ability to express oneself clearly and logically, both written and verbally, within a passionate technical team.
Ability to set goals and execute.
Knowledge of virtual machine administration (VMWare, Oracle, Hyper-v, etc).
Ability to multitask.
