Seeking a Network Engineer in the Costa Mesa, CA area for a full-time position. The Network Engineer will analyze, design, install, configure, implement, maintain and support the network infrastructure to meet technical demands. Duties & Responsibilities:- Assist managing the computer network and related equipment. Implement network system improvements by evaluating system performance, upgrading, installing, and configuring systems
- Install, configure, and upgrade network routers, switches, wireless networks, firewalls, and VPN devices
- Monitor network performance utilizing network monitoring tools
- Assist and educate network users
- Research and recommend new solutions; suggest and provide IT solutions to business and management problems
- Work with vendors and business units to implement solutions for department and company objectives
- Perform and maintain backups of network system; assist with the setup and testing of the network failover process.
- Perform routine preventative measures; assist with the implementation of network security and intrusion detection systems; Prepares technical and user documentation and training materials
- Ensure 24/7/365 IT network system availability
- Assist in maintaining company compliance with required regulations and implementing best-practice standards in Information Technology processes and procedures
- Manage ticket assignments and escalation of issues for thorough and timely resolution
- Work closely with other departments and collaborate with other IT staff. Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
- At least 5 years of related experience, in client/server technical environment
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications
- Extensive knowledge of PC hardware
- Knowledge of networking protocols and services and Ethernet hardware, including routers and switches
- Experience in remote access VPN
- Ability to work independently, and with moderate supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with documentation of processes
- Excellent problem-solving ability, technical and analytical skills.
- Experience with DNS, TCP/IP Routing/switching, and remote access VPN.
- Experience with network security: Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls and VPN routers.
- Experience with Cisco switching and wireless network environments.
- Knowledge of load balancing and high availability concepts.
- Experience designing networks for SAN and large server environments, LAN, WAN, including IP address schemes and routing protocols.
- Experience maintaining multi-site network operations.
- Experience with implementation and support of VoIP, video-conferencing and cloud environments.
- CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Cisco certifications is a definite plus.
