Projects the candidate will be working on:

Our IT Network team supports the Networking Infrastructure for California Market Companies.
You will be involved in supporting LAN/WAN/SDWAN, WiFi, Firewalls, VPNs, for PMG San Jose California, and the Integration project.
Your main responsibility will be Network Support, Security Support and Implementation and some Voice support for PMG San Jose.

Your tasks would include but not limited to:

IT Network Discovery
Network Redesign and Optimization.
Sophos Firewall to Palo Alto Firewall Migration
Plao Alto Firewall Implemenation
Cisco ASA VPN - Site to Site and Remote Access.
Knowlege of Cisco Viptela SDWAN
Network Support and Vulnerability Management : Support data center Routing, Switching, WiFi, LAN, WAN, SDWAN and Firewall services and proactively monitor the health of all Network systems located at the data centers and take appropriate action when required.
Perform after-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance as required.
Author technical documentation such as Network LAN WAN Infrastructure diagrams and data center diagrams for Integration Project.
Provide specialized technical expertise in researching and resolving Network and Security related problems which may involve coordination of hardware and software vendor support.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders.
Work closely with vendors on implementation of products, services and projects.
Ensure security, redundancy, disaster recovery, fault tolerance and operational standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with UHG IT compliance requirements, HIPPA standards, and industry best practices

Perform Network Discovery
Study existing Network Optimization Plan
Plan a Network Migration Strategy with Remote CA Market team, Local IT team and I&O Engineer Onsite.
Perform IP Migration Planning if required
Perform IP Migration Documentation - Network Discovery and Diagrams and Static Device List
Submit Change Requests
Coordinate with Network and Systems Engineers and perform Maintenance and Projects
Coordinate with multiple teams to Build Application List
Install Palo Alto Firewalls - Verify Licensing and Support for Palo Alto
Submit Firewall rules list to be Created.
Firmware Upgrade and Support of Network Switches, Routers, Firewalls, ISE, NAC if necessary for Vulnerability management.
Firewall Rules Migration from Sophos to Palo Alto.
Cisco Network Design and Cisco ASA Deployment
Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco 9K Switches, ISR Routers, Meraki Gear, Cisco and Sophos WiFi.

Skills/attributes Required

Bachelor’s degree in relevant major such as Computer Science or Networking, Telecommunications, Information systems.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Network Engineering .
Strong understanding of Secure access solutions such as NAC/AAA.
Strong knowledge and experience with Routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) as well as HA, QoS.
Any Cisco Voice Experience CUCM, Unity or CCX is a plus.
Experience with some of the log and monitoring aggregation tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst series and ISR/ASR Routers.
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto & Cisco ASA Firewalls.
Experience with Cisco Wireless Infrastructure design and implementation.
Strong understanding of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN (ASA/FirePower), Palo Alto Networks (FW/VPN).
Networking industry experience in handling various switched and routed data networks & protocols in a multi-platform environment with high availability.
SD-WAN knowledge.
Cisco CCNA or CCNP or equivalent experience.

Palo Alto Certification
Cisco/Viptela SD-WAN experience.
Multicast experience.
Experience with Cisco AnyConnect VPN (ASA/FirePower), Palo Alto Networks (FW/Global Protect VPN).
Some Experience supporting Voice.
Cisco NX 9K experience.
Experience with Sophos Firewall and Sophos WiFi
Experience Supporting VPN
Cisco CCNP/CCIE certified.
