Provides assessment and psychotherapeutic support to the patient and caregiver(s) as well as consultation with the Rehabilitation team. Assists in the continuous quality improvement process, program development, administrative duties as assigned, and coordination of any student/intern/fellowship program, as requested. Assists in divisional growth to ensure a high quality of care. Provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards, Standards for Psychological Testing, the American Psychological Association Ethical Principles, the Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan, and the Patient Education Plan.Provides care while maintaining a safe environment, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues and physical disabilities.Educational Requirements:

Doctorate degree (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology from a doctoral program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).

Completion of at least 1 year of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.

Fellowship of appropriate training and demonstrated competency to practice within designated specialty.

License:

Required: Licensed Psychologist in the state of California

Preferred: Board Certified in Clinical Neuropsychology

Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certified (upon hire)

Experience:

Must have completed clinical specialty training as a practicing psychologist, status-post fellowship. Experience and strong knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical setting.

Able to obtain CSMC Clinical Psychologist privileges (as delineated within the “Privilege Delineation Description and Standards”).
