Organization:SDMC-Sutter Delta Medical CenterPosition Overview:The primary role of the Nursing Assistant (NA) is to work under the direction of the staff RN as a member of the care delivery team for the patient population they serve, within the scope of their practice. The Nursing Assistant performs patient care activities and other unit tasks as delegated by the Staff RN to support the interdisciplinary care team.Job Description :EDUCATIONHS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

If RN or LVN student, must be enrolled in accredited School of Nursing/ Vocational Nursing and have completed 2 semesters of clinical experience if in RN program and 1 semester clinical experience if in Vocational program.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURECNA-Certified Nurse Assistant Upon Hire

OR EMT-Emergency Medical Technician National Upon Hire

OR LP-Licensed Paramedic National Upon Hire

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire

EXPERIENCESix months of basic Medical / Surgical acute care experience or 2 semesters of clinical experience if enrolled in RN program or 1 semester if in Vocational program

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEBasic Medical/Surgical nursing aide skills,

Basic competencies in the nursing process and pharmacology

Basic knowledge of adolescent, adult and geriatric population

Ability to work with all levels of nursing personnel and assist them in a resource capacity

Effective English written and verbal communication skills.
