Marians offers Santa Maria Valley residents access to the most advanced technologies an expanded and enhanced Emergency Department Critical Care Unit neonatal intensive care unit and an array of womens services.ResponsibilitiesIn keeping with the philosophy of Dignity Health the Resident Physician is responsible to perform professional medical duties as outline: First Year: Incumbent performs professional medical duties while undergoing advanced professional training in Family Practice medicine under the general supervision of contracted staff physicians at the hospital. Second Year: To be promoted from the R1 to the R2 the resident must be performing at a competency level adequate to warrant licensure in California and to act with limited independence. (These criteria are also applied to International Medical Graduates even though they cannot qualify for licensure in California until the completion of the R2year). For promotion from the R1 to R2 year the resident must also be judged competent to supervise others (R1s and students). Third Year: Incumbent performs professional medical duties while undergoing advanced professional training in Family Practice medicine under the general supervision of contracted staff physicians at the hospital.QualificationsYear 2 -Successful completion of one year in a residency program to acquire knowledge of: methods and principles of medicine and surgery and skill in their application required. Year 3 - Successful completion of two years in a residency program as above. Familiarity with the methods of diagnosing and treating diseases and deficiency required.
