Exelixis has newly formed the Digital Transformation (DT) function to effectively support Exelixis’ rapid growth which is expected in the next 3 to 5 years. To support business functions in process simplification, automation and data-driven decision making, DT is introducing relevant technology products. DT products will aid in sustaining both organic and inorganic growth of Exelixis, increasing operational complexity of additional product launches, indications, capabilities, and geographies.

As Exelixis Commercial business function prepares on a cross-functional Integrated Customer Engagement initiative, DT’s Commercial technologies group has an immediate need to hire an experienced business technology leader to enable Digital Marketing and Omnichannel capabilities. In this position, you will act as a strategic technology partner that will enable and deliver a compliant, innovative digital technology solutions with high-quality customer experience across Omnichannel.

The Director role will actively participate in epics, sprints planning with key stakeholders to determine scope, nature of business requirements and priorities to consider for the successful outcome. This leader will also bring thought leadership on Commercial business domain construct with careful consideration of architecture standards, technical reliability, compliance, and security aspects of solution. This role will serve as part of a cross-functional team supporting the strategic scaling of digital and omni-channel initiatives, connecting Marketing activities to the omni-channel solution, and identifying opportunities to expand.

The ideal technology leader with a strong pharma marketing and techno-functional background to lead technology enablement, product engineering, strategy, design, developing solutions and operations by collaborating with functional business owners, Data and Analytics, Quality Engineering, other business stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Partners with leadership (Franchise Marketing, Brand team, Business Insights) to define business requirements, technology and digital solution needs. Collaborate with Marketing teams and their agencies to capture demand, prioritized and enable with Exelixis managed and operated digital channels aligning with Digital playbook standards. Deliver the digital and omnichannel initiatives by scaling existing channels and build new digital capabilities Provide technology support to synthesis of complex/big data to develop and execute actionable strategic and tactical HCP and customer initiatives and to identify marketing opportunities for measurable impacts Manage all aspects of product delivery of SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Marketing Automation, Web and Social channels and Data Hub. Lead, build, test and deploys features, enhancements, and bug fixes in Digital Marketing platform ecosystem working with our partners and System integrators. Collaborates closely with data and analytics team to deliver on a variety of Marketing data inbound/outbound integrations and fulfilling reporting and Marketing analytics dashboards. Work cross-functionally with the Master Data Management team to ensure business processes and technologies have reliable and current data. Ensure efficient functioning of existing systems: user management, system administration, issue resolution, systems / data integrations, data privacy, contribute to the design, manage the design, development, testing and roll-out of new features or systems. Effectively manages initiative scope, timelines, and ongoing releases of Digital Marketing platform and operations system activities. Contribute and as required lead the product launch with system and platform readiness. Leads and supports digital marketing technology projects including management of third-party vendors / contractors deliverables.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Education: BS/BA degree in related discipline and 12 years of related experience; or MS/MBA degree in related discipline and 10 years of related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in an IT leadership role at the intersection of strategy, architecture and applying advanced cloud-based technologies to large / complex business problems Minimum of 6 years demonstrated experience in multi-channel marketing (Digital, Social, Customer360) with analytics background Minimum 5 years experience working with SalesForce, SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Veeva Vault and any major headless CMS platform is required. Experience of creating and contributing to Customer or Patient journey mapping with Brand team. Experience is required in managing a DevOps team in the areas of Cloud based platform, environment, and release management. Hands on experience on across all application layers of cloud based application stack, with good knowledge on front end development is preferred. Experience with Agile development methodologies is required. Experience in communicating business reporting requirements to Data and Analytics team partners

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Possess deep knowledge of Marketing processes and have a good understanding of core Commercial technology capabilities across Digital Marketing. Requires deep understanding of business processes related to Promotional review process, various Marketing datasets and interdependencies with other Field enablement technologies Proven track record in leading and supporting Omnichannel transformation for various brands / geo expansion Familiarity with a range of products and platforms such as AWS, Informatica, Tableau and Mulesoft Prototyping skills with visual and design system experience Demonstrated experience with data integration, analytics and customer mastering principles Demonstrated ability to participate with business in launching technologies to support product launches, deliver large, complex, programs involving system and process reengineering and integration. Proven ability to collaborate with senior functional leaders to set vision, drive innovation and facilitate transformation to meet evolving business needs and priorities. Interpersonal skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the visual story telling ability to communicate effectively with management and cross functionally, and to establish collaborative relationships. Applies strong analytical and business communication skills.
