One-on-One Aide

Laurel Tree Charter School is seeking a one-on-one aide for a primary student with a medical action plan. We're especially interested in someone with experience as a behavioral aide or with medical experience. This person would be part of the Forest Kindergarten Team and work in an outdoor environment. This ten-month, 22.5-hour-a-week position pays $19.00 an hour. Hours are from 8:30 to 1:00, Monday-Friday. This position includes paid school vacations and sick days. This is at-will employment.

Skills and duties that will be assessed as part of being a member of a teacher-run school:

Works one-on-one with special needs students.

Works with teaching staff to create and implement behavior plans. Collects data for behavior plans.

Can follow the medical action plan.

Is comfortable working outside in all types of weather.

Demonstrates and models community skills in mediation, mindfulness, and restorative practices.

Effectively and kindly handles discipline within the classroom, as well as supports teachers in collaborative discipline and opportunities for student self-reflection.
