JOB SUMMARY: Oversee daily field operations to maximize efficiency and profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Daily, Weekly tasks include:

Direct and coordinate daily construction activities with field personnel.

Manage field staff throughout daily work schedules with assignment of specific duties.

Oversee, assist, and coordinate equipment repair and availability of equipment inventory with Equipment Manager for specific job requirements.

Oversight of class A/B drivers and accumulated hours.

Manage the interrelationships of estimating, materials, labor, fleet management and project management requirements for scheduling purposes.

Monitor and assist field staff on daily basis, troubleshoot specific job conflicts.

Direct and/or attend job site meetings concerning work scheduling and job specific phasing/staging to meet job requirements.

Review and compile quantities from Daily Job Reports for billing purposes.

Develop and respond to information and scheduling requests via e-mail, phone, and direct customer contact.

Conduct safety meetings with field personnel, develop and implement company safety policies.

Determine field staffing requirements and review, hire, and train new employees and oversee those personnel processes.

Conduct annual performance reviews of field personnel.

Evaluate and determine monetary raises for field personnel as required.

Manage the movement of materials for field operations production.

Manage and oversee rental equipment needs and minor equipment purchases.

Assist with payroll processing and assignment of Foreman/Apprentice ratios to maintain proper compliance for certified payroll reporting.

Develop equipment requirements for current projects and assist with management staff for future equipment needs.

Direct and coordinate material, field personnel and equipment activities to maximize efficiency and profitability.

Monitor daily field paperwork and print Daily Schedule for Certified Payroll Requirements.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES:

Able to clearly communicate to customers in English using telephone and e-mail.

Able to sit at a desk and use a computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard for up to four hours without a break.

Able to quickly assess and prioritize customer needs.

Able to maintain a high level of professionalism with customers and co-workers in high-stress situations.

Able to respond in a courteous and helpful manner to customers and co-workers who may be angry or upset.

Able to work in an environment with noise, including those associated with construction equipment, computer equipment, telephones, and other employees talking.

Able to handle multiple tasks to fulfill job requirements.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources staffing, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of field personnel and resources.

Knowledge of principles and processes for customer services including assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, composition rules, and grammar for telephone or e-mail communication.

Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, governmental and agency regulations, and union regulations.

Knowledge of principals and procedures for personnel selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiations.

Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.

Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

Knowledge of construction raw materials associated production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective installation of product lines.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

Working knowledge of PCs. 3+ year’s working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Required: High School diploma or GED

Preferred: Two years of college courses in accounting, business, or equivalent experience.

Preferred: Working knowledge of Sage 100 Contactor, WorkMax by AboutTime, and Congistics Control Board software.

Construction background in related field, preferably a general engineering contractor or painting and highway improvement contractor.

Preferred: Previous leadership responsibility of employees (e.g., superintendent).

Establishing interpersonal relationships with all employee groups throughout the company structure.

Previous business working relationships with contractors and public agencies.

Flexibility and adaptability in problem solving to maximize profitability.

Handling of complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts by negotiating techniques.

Handling of Union personnel and specific requirements of Union agreements.
