Optical Simulation Engineer

SummaryDesign, develop, and launch next-generation light-sensing technologies.Bring devices to life and enable them interact with users and the environment in ways never imagined before.The light sensing team integrates optical sensors across a variety of consumer electronics products.Basic Optical/Physics knowledge neededKey Responsibilities:Product simulation/analysis using a variety of software tools to support engineering validation and characterization (e.g. Python, MATLAB, Zemax, LightTools, JMP, etc.)Design and execution of system integration, test, and validation strategies for manufacturing new optical sensors.Failure mode analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solvingCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Process Engineering to deliver state-of-the-art sensing solutionsAnalyze data to draw conclusions, enhance product design/manufacturability, and drive FARequired Skillsets:Strong background in optics, optical sensors, lens and optical measurementsExperience using Python, C/C, C#, MATLAB, or similar for simulationExperience with ray-tracing or FDTD software Experience with optics/physics fundamentalsDegree in Optics, Physics or equivalent. B.S./M.S. and industry experience, or Ph.D.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; solid teamwork and leadership skillsLocation: Sunnyvale, CA Duration: 12 months
