Responsibilities
The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) conducts sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers
They are responsible for offering the best possible customer experience for external customers, providing solutions for customers, explaining existing or new products, and serving as the main point of contact for the company for external customers
They are responsible for deploying local sales strategies and tactics while meeting assigned accounts/territory revenue, product margins, and T&E budgetary goals
The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
Schedule, plan, and execute daily sales calls with assigned and future customers within the assigned territory
Travel daily within the assigned territory to meet with customers in face-to-face sales calls
Services existing accounts, establish new accounts, enter orders by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential accounts
Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of needs or opportunity account has
Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential accounts tool and consumable usage
Submits orders by referring to price guidance provided on company literature, web site and software
Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
Communicates with retail store in your area to adjust inventory to your customer’s specific needs
Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc
Seek potential customers by monitoring new market developments that have use of our core product offerings
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Prospecting for new accounts using social networking, internet, and trade publications
Utilize analytical modeling to initiate needs and make recommendations for expansions, new facilities, new equipment, etc
