Paralegal

Description A small, client-focused law firm in Modesto, CA, is seeking a detail-oriented Bilingual Family Law Paralegal to join their team on a temporary-to-hire basis. The position is fully on-site, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law with 3-4 years of current, verifiable legal experience. However, candidates with civil litigation experience and no family law background will also be considered. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is essential, as the role involves assisting a diverse client base.Key Responsibilities:

Assist attorneys with family law cases including divorce, custody disputes, and child support.

Draft, review, and file legal documents and motions.

Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries and briefs.

Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court in both English and Spanish.

Organize and maintain case files and documentation.

Schedule and prepare for court hearings and client meetings.

Requirements

Requirements:

Paralegal certificate or associate degree in paralegal studies.

Minimum of 3-4 years of current, verifiable experience in family law (civil litigation experience may be considered).

Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

Proficiency in legal research and case management software.

Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.

Ability to handle a high caseload and maintain client confidentiality.
