Job Summary:
The Audio/Visual Technician provides technical support for AVL (audio, video, lighting) services. This role ensures seamless event execution, maintenance of equipment, installation of equipment, maintaining excellent client relationships, and offering subject matter expertise in AVL technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary technical contact for live events, collaborating with event planners and production teams.
Provide exceptional customer service and technical support during events.
Operate AVL consoles.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in AV technology.
Assist with equipment tracking, maintenance, and onboarding new services.
Maintain relationships with stakeholders and third-party vendors.
Prepare post-event reports and assist with client follow-up.
Administrative tasks and paperwork preparation for installations and productions.
Qualifications:
2+ years of AVL industry experience, focusing on live events.
Experience with NDI and networking preferred.
Expertise in audio consoles and production networking.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with flexible hours.
Essential Duties:
Install and remove AV equipment.
Operate AVL equipment during events, ensuring success and high service standards.
Meet with clients to review event details.
Participate in equipment care, storage, and maintenance.
Create equipment pick lists and perform minor repairs.
Adhere to safety best practices.
Nights and Weekend hours will be required for this position.
Required Skills:
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
Valid California driver’s license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with AV equipment storage and operations at various locations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Technical support experience for team members and guests.
Equipment Familiarity:
Zoom, Teams, video production switchers, Mac OS, Windows OS, PC laptops, Playback Pro, VLC, Keynote, PowerPoint, digital and analog audio consoles, Digital wireless mics, Clearcom, ProPresenter, lighting control boards, and various AVL equipment.
Preferred Certifications:
Dante Level 1 & 2.
