Part-Time Bookkeeper

Description We are seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper who will be primarily based in Santa Barbara, California. The role involves carrying out a variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both payables and receivables, along with maintaining knowledge of the stock market due to the company's investment activities. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable. Regularly conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Utilize bookkeeping software, specifically Sage, to record financial transactions. Conduct data entry tasks as required, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurate. Use Microsoft Excel for various financial reporting and analysis tasks. Oversee and manage the company's investments in the stock market. Ensure accurate record-keeping and conduct month-end close procedures. Communicate effectively with clients to discuss their accounts or any potential issues. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial records. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations Demonstrated skills in Bookkeeping Proficiency in Data Entry tasks Proficient use of Microsoft Excel Experience with Month End Close procedures Ability to work on a part-time schedule Excellent communication and organizational skills Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information Proactive problem-solving abilities Self-motivated and able to work independently Proven capacity to meet deadlines and work under pressure Relevant certification or degree in accounting or finance is desirable.
