Payroll Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Los Angeles, California. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with California Labor Law. The position is within the financial services industry and requires proficiency in using various accounting software systems.Responsibilities: Process payroll for employees using ADP Workforce Now and other accounting software systems Ensure compliance with California Labor Law in all payroll functions Administer 401k - RRSP Administration for employees and handle related inquiries Carry out terminations process, ensuring all accounting functions are accurately completed Maintain and update records in the Accounting Software Systems regularly Assist with other accounting functions as needed Resolve any payroll discrepancies and answer employee queries regarding payroll Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and legislation Prepare reports detailing payroll, deductions, leave, tax returns, and other financial statements Maintain confidentiality and security of employee information and financial data. Requirements Possession of at least 1 year of experience in a Payroll Specialist role or similar position. Proficiency in accounting software systems is a must. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is highly desirable. Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration is essential. Familiarity with various accounting functions is required. Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now will be a significant advantage. Understanding of California Labor Law is necessary. Experience with employee terminations is a key requirement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
