Payroll Specialist

Description We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in payroll activities while working closely with HR and finance teams. This position is ideal for someone with strong payroll expertise who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for an opportunity to contribute to a successful team.Key Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for a diverse workforce, ensuring accurate and timely payment.

Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.

Verify and reconcile payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, and adjustments.

Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.

Prepare and file necessary payroll reports, including tax filings and year-end documentation.

Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support payroll-related projects and initiatives.

Assist in the development and implementation of payroll procedures and best practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and employees.

High level of discretion and confidentiality.
