Payroll Specialist

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Banning, California. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for various payroll and administrative duties within our team. This role is crucial to maintaining the smooth operation of our payroll processes and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and best practices.Responsibilities: Collection and verification of employee timekeeping data. Maintenance and updating of payroll records. Preparation and processing of payroll within established deadlines. Issuance of employee payments, taking into account deductions and withholdings. Response to payroll-related inquiries and resolution of concerns. Execution of administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and emailing. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitation of audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Assistance in the preparation of reports through the collection, analysis, and summarization of information. Usage of Kronos Timekeeping System and other Accounting Software Systems for various payroll and accounting functions. Requirements Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role Proficient in Accounting Software Systems Must have knowledge of Accounting Functions Experience with Auditing is required Must have a deep understanding of Benefit Functions Proficient in managing Full Cycle Payroll Knowledge of Payroll Taxes is essential Familiarity with Kronos Timekeeping System is highly desirable Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
