Description We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our operations in Banning, California. With your expertise in payroll management and handling accounting functions, you will be a vital asset to our team. This role presents an opportunity for long-term contract employment in a dynamic workplace environment that values precision and efficiency. Responsibilities: Collect and verify employee and timekeeping data to ensure accuracy in payroll processing Maintain and update payroll records on a regular basis to reflect any changes or updates Prepare and process payroll within set deadlines to ensure timely disbursement of employee payments, taking into account deductions and withholdings Respond promptly to payroll-related inquiries and resolve any concerns to maintain employee satisfaction Carry out administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and emailing as required to support efficient operations Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws, and adhere to best practices in all operations Facilitate audits by providing necessary records and documentation to auditors in a timely manner Assist in the preparation of reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information Leverage the Kronos Timekeeping System for efficient management of bi-weekly payroll for a sizeable workforce Use Accounting Software Systems skillfully to streamline accounting functions and improve operational efficiency. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Understanding of Accounting Functions Experience in Auditing Knowledge of Benefit Functions Familiarity with Full Cycle Payroll Experience with Payroll Taxes Proficiency in Kronos Timekeeping System Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
