Payroll Specilist

Role: Payroll SpecialistLocation: Los Angeles, CAHybrid positionRate: $50/hr to $55/hrIndustry: Entertainment and Media As a Payroll Specialist, you will be a vital member of a high-performing global payroll team and will play an integral role in building out world-class payroll systems and processes. The right candidate for this position will be an individual with a natural intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills, and a deep desire to drive improvements and continuously simplify processes. The candidate will flourish in a hands-on role and has a deep desire to constantly evolve and reinvent how they do business. This role will be on-site 3 days a week (Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday) and based out of our Los Gatos, CA, or Los Angeles, CA offices. Responsibilities: Process on-demand checks in workday (i.e. severance) Calculate and issue final pay due to termination Assist as needed to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close process, including account reconciliations and accruals Process employee expense reimbursements and related month-end accounting entries Assist with payroll-related projects, including year-end preparation, maintaining payroll documentation, resolving payroll tax issues, and supporting periodic audits Resolved tax related issues in ADP SmartCompliance Receive and distribute payroll incoming mail Complete BLS (bureau of labor statistics) surveys when mandatory to comply and multiple worksite report Assist as need to audit the biweekly payroll for US and Canada Assist with garnishment responses, intake, and set-up Research and resolve employee inquiries using Zendesk ticketing system Review and communicate to employees with incomplete timecards Download and save quarterly ADP reports and amendments Assist with biweekly Canada Shadow Payroll Create and load EIB for Work Not Drive (WND) Program
