Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director

Description Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Payroll Manager position. This Payroll Manager will be responsible for work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies, and will help achieve standards that are necessary for growth within the financial department. Arrange payroll systems and timekeeping

Abide by relevant laws and internal policies

Manage processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades

Coach and supervise payroll assistants and clerks

Build systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)

Manage payroll tax audits and liaise with auditors

Collaborate with accounting and Human Resources (HR) teams

Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions

Create reports and ensure accuracy of records Requirements - 5+ years of payroll experience

Excellent knowledge in compliance

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field

2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role

Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

CPP, CPM, or other related detail oriented certifications is a plus

Sound understanding of current payroll procedures and related laws

Previous experience with multi-location payroll and taxes

Organized in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

Leadership and organizational skills

Comfortable with multiple payroll applications
