Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.ResponsibilitiesThe Physical Therapist evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs in an outpatient setting. Supervises physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment. Supervises students.Responsibilities:Provides initial evaluation of patient's abilities and designs appropriate intervention plans.

Treats patients with therapeutic procedures, modalities and or equipment to improve function.

Assures efficient management of work processes, by completing tasks and assignments by time standards.

Completes post-intervention activities: session closure, documentation, communication, charge capture.

QualificationsMINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Education:Current state licensure as a physical therapist. Will consider license applicant.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Provider.

Skills:Requires critical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a demanding environment, balance multiple priorities and take appropriate actions.

Computer proficiency in word processing/typing, basic application and hardware functions required for applicable care setting.

Prefers:Board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy preferred.

Experience with wrist and elbow management preferred.

1+ year of clinical practice
