Plant Mechanic

Job Description

Boring machine, grinder, power saw, drill press and measuring instruments and hand tools such as caliper, micrometer, protractor, gauges, wrenches, chisels, files, scrapers, etc.

• To inspect, repair, replace, adjust and maintain glass forming machines and related equipment involving highly skilled work.
• Inspects glass forming machines and miscellaneous factor operating machines and related parts and components.
• Determines cause of breakdown or required repairs, reconditioning or replacements.
• Lays out work, makes setups and operates shop equipment and machine tools to repair or make required parts.
• Makes line repairs and adjustments to glass forming machines.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass mechanical skills test in order to be considered.
• 3 years of minimum industrial mechanical experience.
• Lathe and Milling preferred but not required.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements.
