Platform Operations Principal Analyst

Leapfrog Power, Inc. D/B/A Leap Energy seeks Platform Operations Principal Analyst in Sacramento, CA.

Responsibilities: This role is a key principal analyst role that is responsible for the development & execution of our operations in our new market expansions (especially ERCOT, NYISO, and ISO-NE). Specifically, this will involve some combination of: designing and building processes to handle large volumes of distributed energy resources to enable them to participate in the wholesale energy markets, in a seamless & reliable manner; serving as the central operator & subject matter expert who works across multiple teams to ensure Leap enrolls & participates our partner’s DER portfolios reliably; enabling the wholesale market participation by gauging the curtailment capabilities of our partners’ meters, and apply risk management strategies to optimize our market bidding; conducting data analyses & visualizations to help drive key strategic decisions and ensure reliability of our processes; work with product & engineering teams to develop features in our core platform that enable us to improve our reliability & scalability in existing & new markets; collaborating cross-functionally to create a common data framework and ensure operational and analytical needs are addressed and modeled for availability to analysts and end-users; supporting and leading hiring, developing, and setting up hires for success and opportunities for growth; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to our Sacramento, California Office. Salary: $136,576 - $143,407.

Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field (or foreign equivalent).

Requirements: 2 years of experience in the job offered or related; 2 years of experience gathering and analyzing data to manage and improve processes in the electricity market with demand-side resources (demand response and energy efficiency); 2 years of experience in the energy and/or capacity markets developing participation strategies/processes and engaging with utilities and demand-side resources (or renewables) sector; and 2 years of combined experience in data analytics (e.g. data visualization, Excel/GSheets, SQL, Python), operations, and/or mathematical modeling.
