Plumbing Designer, Mid Level

Job Description

The Plumbing Designer performs their job functions under the supervision of a project’s Engineer-of-Record. Plumbing design focuses on the design of waste and venting systems, domestic water systems, natural gas systems into the built work environment. Tasks include assisting with 3D modeling and design, conducting field investigations, performing red-to-black markup/review tasks, and producing discipline deliverables.

• Travel as required for client development and project execution preferred
• Responsible to lay out Plumbing systems in conformance with code requirements andin coordination with other design disciplines
• Produce discipline deliverables such as plumbing drainage plans (sanitary and storm), riser diagrams, service piping plans, schedules and details utilizing computer aided drafting engineering software in conformance with CRB’s VDC standards
• Work closely with other architects, engineers, and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible, and complete design
• Conduct field investigations to integrate the design with existing systems and structures
• Assist with 3D modeling and design, conducting field investigations, performing red-to-black markup/review tasks, and producing discipline deliverables
• Design focuses on the design of waste and venting systems, domestic water systems, natural gas systems into the built work environment.

Qualifications

• Applicable Associate degree or technical trade school certification
• 3 to 7 years of experience preferred, including field experience in either a design or construction capacity

• Basic proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD MEP is preferred
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
• Experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of domestic cold & hotwatersystems, non-potable water, soft water, tepid water, sanitary waste/venting, andstorm water design
• Ability to interface with client and external partners preferred
