Organization:PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation ALDPosition Overview:Provides treatment, management, diagnostic testing, control, education, and care of patients with sleep and wake disorders. Analyzes, monitors, and records physiologic data during sleep and wakefulness to assist in the treatment of disorders, syndromes, and dysfunctions that are sleep-related, manifest during sleep, or disrupt normal sleep activities. Provides therapeutic and diagnostic use of oxygen, the use of positive airway pressure including continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bilevel modalities, adaptive servoventilation, and maintenance of nasal and oral airways that do not extend into the trachea.Job Description :EDUCATION:Other: Graduate of an accredited polysomnographic education or respiratory care practitioner program.CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:BRPT-Current credentials as a Polysomnographic Technologist issued by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic TechnologistsOR RCP-Respiratory Care PractitionerBLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare ProviderOTHER-STATE registration with the California State Medical Board as a Technologist (unless RCP)TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:2 years of recent experience.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of cardio respiratory function, sleep physiology and neurology.Understanding of physics, medical electronics, in-depth medical terminology, with emphasis on pulmonology, neurology, and sleep related pharmacology; and psychological processes related to sleep/wake disturbances.Basic computer skills are essential for record analysis.Proven verbal and written skills.Ability to perform Polysomnographic studies.Pay Range: $44.18 - $55.22 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
