Power BI Architect

Title: Power BI Architect Location: Orange County, CA Ekman Associates is a management consulting firm that specializes in developing business, digital, and technology strategy, delivering solutions, and addressing human resource demands. Summary: The Power BI Architect is responsible for architecting, designing, and developing end to end business intelligence solution based on Microsoft Power BI platform. Responsible for applying Microsoft Power BI across the enterprise, build new solutions for reporting and analytics, including model development, data visualizations, security, and governance. The Power BI Architect must have a firm grasp of BI implementation methodologies and will have had in-depth experience with Microsoft Power BI stack. Key Experience:

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise business intelligence solutions using Microsoft BI technologies, with a focus on Power BI, SQL Server, Excel, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
• Deep experience in Power BI
• Deep understanding of dimensional data modeling concepts as well as data warehouse design and lifecycle management principles

• Review our data architecture to ensure that it will support our reporting requirements/roadmap.
• Architect, design and develop end to end business intelligence solution based on Microsoft Power BI platform.
• Educate our technical staff on the Power BI platform to fast track our engagement Help us define when we should use Power BI, Excel/Power Query, SSRS, etc. for business intelligence projects.
• Review several large Excel worksheets that are leveraging SQL databases and give recommendation how to convert into Power BI dashboards.
• Work with IT/Business to define user requirements for web systems, dashboards, and reports. Analyze user requirements and based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications.
• Define BI framework model, semantic layers, and Metadata repositories to support reporting and administration.
• Develop and manage BI end user presentation layer training and documentation.
• Attention to detail on deliverables will be extremely important as the reports that are being created will be used daily by high level decision makers.

• Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology
• 7+ Years of Business Intelligence Architecture and Data warehouse and data modelling
• 5+ Years of Microsoft BI Stack SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
• 3+ Years Excel, Power BI (including PowerPivot, Power Query, and Power View)
• Proficiency with Azure Data warehouse, Azure Document DB
• Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving
• Strong knowledge that demonstrates database technical functionality such as performance, security, and reliability
• Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users and staff.
• Should understand and be able to contribute to all phases of the development life cycle
