Prep Cook

We are looking for a Prep Cook to join our team at a new café in the heart of Woodside, CA.

The Little Store is a beloved neighborhood café and flower shop serving thoughtfully prepared food in a warm, welcoming space. We are currently seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our small but mighty kitchen team.

About the Role -

As a Prep Cook at The Little Store, you'll be a key part of our back-of-house operations, helping to keep things running smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in their knife skills and organization, and is eager to grow within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities Include-

- Daily preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, making sauces, etc.

- Ensuring all stations are prepped and stocked for service

- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout your shift

- Assisting line cooks and chefs as needed

- Labeling, dating, and storing food properly

- Supporting a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture

Requirements-

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen (prep or line)

- Strong knife skills and attention to detail

- Punctual, reliable, and able to work efficiently under pressure

- Able to follow recipes and directions with consistency

- A proactive and team-first attitude

- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)

- Available mornings, afternoons and weekends.
