Preschool Afternoon teacher

A small and nurturing in-home preschool serving children from 2 1/2 to 5 years old is looking for a part-time teacher to join our teaching team. We are located in the mid-city/west Adams areas of Los Angeles. We are a play-based, open, creative, and outdoor program that employs an eclectic mixture of teaching approaches in early childhood education. If you are a loving, patient, creative, and passionate teacher with at least 6 ECE units and at least six months of experience in a preschool setting, please email us your resume.

This position is for M-F, 12:00 - 5:30 pm. $20-25/hour.

Job description

Creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inspiring play environment.

- Assisting and planning emergent curriculum.

- Planning and setting up an intentional learning environment based on your understanding of the children's interests.

- Working as a team with other team teachers to create a consistent and coherent program.

- Maintaining an organized learning environment.

- Developing and maintaining a meaningful relationship with each child and family.

- Observing and recording the children's developments throughout the year.

- Attending staff meetings.

- Assisting the children with their naps.

- Assisting the children with diaper and toilet needs
