Position Overview:
Experience working in an authentic Montessori environment.
We are dedicated to providing our teachers and students a loving and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing young children for Montessori Primary class and ensuring their smooth transition into organized education. A Montessori assistant teacher at LiMai must have a passion for child development, knowledge of Montessori best practices, and the ability to engage children with patience and care.
Responsibilities:
Aid in the care of the Montessori prepared environment each day
Support the supervision and care of the children in the class by following directions from the Montessori Directress
Assist in guiding the children in the classroom to follow the instructions of the Montessori Directress during class time
Prepare for snack and lunch procedures according to the Montessori Directress’ instructions
Observe the children during outdoor playtimes, with attention to their safety
Communicate with the parents, under the direction of the Montessori Directress, when necessary.
Assist the children with toileting when necessary, with patience and kindness.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 12 ECE units in Child Development
We are seeking a bilingual candidate who speaks fluent English and Mandarin Chinese.
1 to 3 years assisting/teaching in a preschool or Montessori environment
Current Certification in First Aid/CPR – infant through adult; Mandated Reporter; required immunizations; T.B. test results; Physician’s Report; I-9 qualified to work; DOJ/FBI clearance
Willingness to learn and implement Montessori methods of education
Work Hours: 8 hours per day
