Principal Data Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Architect hybrid cloud native data platforms and analytical technologies including Snowflake/Azure data platforms, Data Vault methodology, Data Warehouse and Consumption Marts design, BI reporting with Tableau, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Business Glossary, Databricks and NoSQL platforms
• Collaborate with other architects to create and document standards and patterns that can be leveraged for future re-use, and actively seek opportunities to leverage industry solutions for new business offerings and services
• Develop and maintain reference architecture which includes the reference model, guiding principles, standards, patterns, and usage guidelines
• Research, design, test, and evaluate new data platform technologies, and third party products. Work with technology teams to prototype and prove the viability of solutions
• Engage with customer's both business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise in their environment
• Manages the creation and maintenance of models that identify interdependencies between business units, roles, associated capabilities, and technologies
• Align with BSC operating model, strategy, and IT objectives in guiding IT transformations
• Ensure Data and Application Integration and Interoperability by addressing overall data processing needs
• Continuously evaluate platform simplification and multi-tenancy opportunities ensuring - minimal amount of overlap among information systems, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive set of applications that work well together, are easily integrated, and don't duplicate efforts

• Requires at least 10 years relevant business and IT experience
• Requires at least 3 years of experience in an architecture role
• Required interpersonal and technical leadership skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management and influence
• Required strong proficiency in Data, Integration and Technology Architecture. Desired multi-tenancy architecture and M&A expertise
• Required strong proficiency in data architecture. Desired data modelling, and SQL development expertise
