Purpose Statement / Position Summary The Enterprise Principal Architects are technology leaders among architects. They drive the technical design of scalable systems for MemorialCare. Enterprise Principal Architects connect MemorialCares longterm vision, the business and the technical strategy to build an industry-leading platform. They use deep understanding of distributed systems, algorithms optimization, and healthcare knowledge to build a new category of products intersecting deep learning and computing with industry-leading technologies. They harness groundbreaking technologies and build impactful products and platforms that redefines the capabilities of Medical Doctors and MemorialCares healthcare systems. Principal Software Architects require an understanding of a broad spectrum of technologies used within MemorialCare. Principal Software Architects must be well-versed with new and emerging technologies available in the marketplace. They demonstrate extensive leadership and communication skills while working collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring enterprise-class solutions are judiciously designed and properly executed. The position drives best practices and adopts bestin-class architectural standards to be used at MemorialCare. Principal Software Architects involve a high degree of autonomy along with a fundamental ability to infuse project delivery with principles that are agile and lean.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
  • Develop strategy and technical direction for enterprise-class solutions to support key business requirements.
  • Lead development and execution of architecture, engineering, and operational portfolio of applications, ensuring evolvement with recognition to business directions, the competitive landscape, and potential disruptive technologies
  • Evaluate newfound MemorialCare business initiatives and apprehensions with an eye towards application rationalization across the entire enterprise and an ability to react quickly and positively to new or emergent situations
  • Provide technical and clinical leadership for the end-to-end evaluation and implementation of new technology and application/solution, including standard commercial products, custom applications, and hybrid solutions
  • Apply knowledge of systems and business to the development of technical design for large complex processes and projects. Conduct research and makes recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Mentor and provide oversight on architectural and design best practices by reviewing detailed system designs and providing guidance

  • Identifies opportunities to continuously improve application performance, security, access and ease of organizational use
  • Maintains expertise in application technologies across a broad base of technical skills, including current trends in the market place. Applies knowledge of systems and business to the development of technical design for large complex processes and projects. Conducts research and makes recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Mentors and provides oversight to other team members on architectural and design best practices by reviewing detailed system designs and providing guidance as necessary.
  • Communicates effectively the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Develops, analyzes, and documents use-case and cross-functional requirements. Maintains detailed documentation and process flow.

Experience
  • Minimum 10 years experience in object-oriented programming language(s) required (Microsoft suite preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years experience in architecting and delivering end-to-end enterprise solutions required
  • Proven self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and improvement. Rapidly absorbs modern knowledge bases and incorporates them into new and existing architectures

Education
  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; Masters degree preferred
  • Electronic Medical/Health Record EMR/EHR certifications (e.g. Epic certifications) or professional IT certifications (e.g. Microsoft certifications) required
