Procurement Specialist

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist in the manufacturing industry, located in Stockton, California. The person in this role will be a key point of contact with suppliers, ensuring accuracy in invoices and maintaining effective communication. They will also conduct market research, identify and pre-qualify suppliers, and ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.Responsibilities: Act as the primary point of contact for key suppliers, fostering positive supplier relationships that support long-term objectives. Analyze invoices to verify the accuracy of goods delivered and received, resolving any discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with stakeholders to address and resolve issues that may arise during the procurement process and identify opportunities for improvement. Gather business requirements, identify, and pre-qualify suppliers. Evaluate competitive vendor proposals/quotes based on quality, cost and other criteria and recommend suppliers that are best suited to meet the organization’s long-term needs. Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, opportunities for cost savings and availability of materials. Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings. Analyze industry and demand trends providing support to senior management in developing and implementing sourcing strategies. Hold suppliers accountable for late deliveries, ensuring timely resolution of any related issues. Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations. Collaborate with Sales and Inventory management to identify styles to order, cancel, rush or delay. Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry standards affecting procurement practices. Requirements Must possess at least 5 years of experience in a procurement role within the manufacturing industry Proficiency in using procurement software such as 3M and Coupa Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and ERP solutions is required Familiarity with 'About Time' software Experience in handling budget processes in a manufacturing setting Proficiency in managing buying processes Must possess strong customer service skills Experience in handling invoices is a must Must have a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry's best practices Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks Must have strong communication and negotiation skillsFor immediate consideration please call 209-225-2014Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
