We focus on the transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valvesaortic, pulmonic, mitral, tricuspidand the placement of stent grafts to treat aneurysms and dissections of the bodys largest artery, the aortaThe Structural Heart organization is focused on the development of the cutting-edge transcatheter heart valves and delivery systems and the associated procedures that enable these pioneering, minimally invasive medical procedures.This is a very exciting time for this operating unit as we focus on dealing with the growing opportunity to provide new treatment options to more and more patients.A Day in the Life Product Development Manager:People:Direct, develop, and coach the RD (Product Development) technician team consisting of direct reports through effective leadership.Lead and support Talent Management within the RD technician group by developing the technical capabilities, project management skills, and overall skill sets of the team to ensure that on-going and future strategic business needs are met. Ensure that development plans meet individual and group development needs in alignment with the demands of the business.Ensure that the objectives and performance of each direct report are in alignment with the strategic vision and business needs. Monitor and evaluate actual performance versus plan and determine improvements to drive enhanced performance and group effectiveness.Functional:Drive functional excellence in product development prototyping and testing, including indirect management of larger pilot lines and technician teams.Focused on flawless execution across all phases of the product development cycle, requiring precise attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple efforts. Execute prototyping and testing for development and design verification for all product development programs in the portfolio, commercial Operations support, or commercial Quality support.Ensure that proper documentation is in place. Ensure that technicians are compliant with procedures. Maintain a strong Quality focus in execution.Collaborate closely with product development teams and functional leaders to ensure that their needs and targets are incorporated into scheduling and competency development.Develop flexible resource management capability to meet the requirements of product development projects.Collaborate closely with Operations partners to flex resources between manufacturing and RD efforts.Responsible for RD labs, equipment, and infrastructure, including safety, compliance with existing procedures, and development of new procedures as appropriate.Implement new equipment, including all relevant documentation. Perform test method development activities.Partner with RD leaders to identify improvement areas and implement new processes, test methods, equipment, etc. to drive efficiency and technical rigor.Represent the RD laboratories for regulatory audits.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree required

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have:Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 7 years of experience in Product Development Engineering with 2+ years of managerial/leadership experience, or Advanced degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 5 years of experience in Product Development Engineering with 2+ years of managerial/leadership experience.MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering7+ years of experience in class III implantable device product development or operations5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience2+ years of direct people management experienceStrong understanding of Quality requirementsProven people management skills with previous experience in a people leadership positionDemonstrated problem-solving skillsLeadership and self-starter qualitiesEffectively handle multiple prioritiesProven ability to influence both within and across functionsDemonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
