Product Manager: Intercom product development experience required; PACS integration or product dev a +; (not just VAR/implementation) You'll personally lead one of our award-winning key products. As a self-starting product manager, you'll drive our product vision, strategy, platform definition, feature priorities, release priorities, competitive positioning, and long-term direction, in addition to tactical sprint guidance and release launches. Develops products by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies. The product manager owns and champions the our video / audio intercom product lines as part of an overall solution internally and externally.
  • Gathers and documents requirements (Epics, user stories, use cases) for product functionality and new product development
  • Will assist in the build of a new product leveraging audio / video capability for corporate customers. A product that will integrate seamlessly w/ our other physical security access control products. This will include either a build from scratch audio capability or partnering w/ an external company in a co-development relationship.
  • Gather and documents customer tickets into Jira for engineering to resolve
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's products to competitors' products.
  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying and performing the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines and solutions by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Obtains product market share by working with Sales and Marketing Leadership to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Creates technical product specs in partnership with product marketing.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related is preferred
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification is a plus.
  • 1-5 years of Commercial Intercom product development experience
    • Not just working at a reseller that's implementing other companies' products, but instead custom-building these solutions
    • Experience w/ products such as Commend, ODM, Aiphone, Zenitel or comparable is a big plus.
    • New product development in this area a big plus
    • Must understand low voltage and networking as it relates to product development
  • Experience integrating w/ or building Physical Access Control Software / Hardware products is preferred
  • 2-5+ years of Product Management that includes:
    • Strength / ability to gather/document product requirements (epics, use cases, user stories)
    • Ability to gather / document customer tickets/issues into Jira to get to engineering for support/fixes
    • Ability to competitive market analysis desired
    • Ability to strategize on product pricing is helpful (must be willing to learn it if you don't do it now)
    • Ability to do sales forecasting is helpful (must be willing to learn it if you don't do it now)
    • Ability to write technical product specs is helpful (must be willing to learn it if you don't do it now)
    • Ability to assist in inventory forecasting is helpful (must be willing to learn it if you don't do it now)
  • Experience in product compliance / certification is a plus (Examples: UL 294, UL 2610, UKCA, FCC EMP / ESD, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Jira experience, training, or certification is a plus
  • An understanding of hardware, firmware/embedded software, cloud, and the infrastructure it sits on is helpful
  • Agile / waterfall project delivery
  • Willingness to travel 20%

Compensation depends on experience, but is typically $90-150K. Potential for bonus &/or RSUs. (We have let the client know that this might be off-marketif you are a good fit / looking for higher compensation, we are open to sending over-budget / hoping for an increase in the budgeted salary.)
