Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. The Product Management Center of Excellence (CoE) sits within the Digital Technology team at Raytheon. Digital Technology builds and sustains apps, and provides technical solutions, that are consumed by internal users at Raytheon. This Product Strategist role sits within the Product Management CoE.The Product Management CoE has a two-fold mission:Lead / Drive the transformation of Digital Technology into a more product-centric organization. Responsible for providing best practices, templates, guidelines, coaching, and consulting to successfully implement product management and strategy across Digital Technology.You AreA product management expert who is equal parts strategist, digital product creator, and marketer.

You can define robust strategies for early-stage products, and then convert those plans into action.

Passionate about pinpointing and crystalizing value propositions: “What’s in it” for each type of stakeholder – and then inspire them to support the digital product and its mission.

You are interested in building a new product management discipline (practice) in an organization evolving to a more product-centric model.

What You Will DoAssess existing Digital offerings:

Assess their potential as digital products from several standpoints. Diagnose / pinpoint their most critical strategic gaps.

Recommend next actions across product lifecycle: Business analysis, user research; product discovery; metrics definition; adoption & change management strategy.

Propose / develop a wholistic product strategy, forward looking 2-4 years.

Guide and Coach less-experienced Product Managers and Agile product teams to:

Complete the recommended actions. Teach them the techniques and how to capture the results.

Integrate objectives, metrics, insights coming out of product strategy into the next PI Planning cycle for their ART.

Occasionally: Lead implementation of that strategy with the Agile development team.

Transform: Best Practices: Product Management, Strategy

Develop and codify several best practices each year, paired with third-party training to support the practice.

Publish the best practice and tools internally.

Evangelize / Sell their usefulness and impact to leadership, product managers, and Agile product teams at Digital.

Teach the best practice to Digital employees, as requested.

Transform: Champion and promote the value and power of product strategy and product a management to executive audiences across Raytheon. Surface and spotlight the success of other parts of the business experience, as a result of using top-tier of Digital products.

Devise communication campaigns, message strategies for various audiences and internal comms channels.

Collaborate with design-services and communications team members to write, build, and launch communications.

Serve as an expert “guest speaker” for other teams and departments that want to know more about product management or about Digital as a product-centric organization

Overall: The Product Strategist, in conjunction with the Product Manager and Agile Product Owner, set the product-strategy foundation that will drive the success of a digital product in the “internal market” within Raytheon. This group of experts is accountable for:

Putting in place a robust, business-focused product strategy, and for collaborating with the architects and technical fellows to synch it with the technical strategy.

Defining and driving the time-to-business-value perspective, defines and tracks the metrics, and champions that result to leadership, across stakeholders, and with the Agile team.

Travel Requirements: 4 to 8 times per year, to attend face-to-face meetings or conduct research.Shift Information: Monday – Friday 9/80 schedule, remote, with some flexibility across North America time zones.What You Will Learn

In this position, you will gain experience implementing Product Management within an Aerospace & Defense Digital Technology organization.

Qualifications You Must Have

Education & Experience:Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.

Worked on digital products or digital services that were consumed by users inside of the company.

Led or worked on Agile software development team.

Experience as a hands-on product manager for products, or in a product-innovation role

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience working in a company that has made the journey from a traditional to a product-centric organization.

Experience with marketing or adoption aspect of product strategy.

Experience in engineering-heavy manufacturing, aerospace, or defense industries.

Experience influencing strategy and narrating the impact of a digital solution by connecting it to specific business impact, with brevity.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories).

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
