Production Software Engineer

Role: Production Software EngineerLocation: Northridge, CA (Initial Remote)Duration: Contract Job Description:This software engineering position, as part of core R&D, ensures customer success by troubleshooting, debugging, and fixing the most complex customer issues. You will work closely with the engineering and global customer support teams to handle technical escalations and operate as customer advocate within R&D. We build and support a diverse set of software systems running in Java, Python, C, Angular and more. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Diagnose system faults and data integrity issues, leveraging your deep understanding of how the system should operate.
• web application troubleshooting tools, understanding APIs
• Fluent in SQL and relational databases
• Fluent in a scripting or programming language
• Experience in supporting web applications
• Familiar with a cloud environment
• Write scripts to automate repetitive tasks
• Work closely with development teams to propose fixes or design changes, implementing fixes yourself where appropriate.
• Own customer reported issues escalations and coordinate with engineering teams to respond and resolve within SLAs
• Report status of open field cases and recommended course of actions to resolve
• Identify opportunities for improving troubleshooting techniques and building diagnostic tools
• Understand and communicate application workflow and behavior to assist customers and/or customer support teams
• Operate as a “customer advocate” in the product support lifecycle, including field issue resolution and maintenance releases, leveraging your in-depth product and technical knowledge
• Generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures
• Design, develop, test, debug and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities
• Determines systems software design requirements
• Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
• Generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures
• Document knowledge and transfer knowledge to colleagues

• Relational DB/SQL
• Troubleshooting in prod env (understanding data flow between software services, API, UNIX/Linux commands, investigating logs)
• Experience with a scripting/programming language

• Exposure to AWS
• Experience with Web Applications
