Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager-Software Development Location: Santa Clara, CA Duration: 12 Month Contract

Background
The Architecture & Software Engineering function drives the move from products to solutions by creating a Diagnostics-wide Software Reference Architecture and by accelerating platform development and its adoption. We focus on improving software productivity by defining and implementing waste reduction frameworks and by optimizing our footprint including contractors and competency centers. With continuous quality improvement and accelerating innovation to the market, we are delighting the Customer Area teams. In addition, we are completely rethinking the way we are doing software with our Diagnostics-wide Software Center of Excellence, enabling competencies and practices. We are looking for a motivated project manager, scrum master to support our effort of defining the reference architecture and driving the adoption of defined components of reference architecture (consolidation of digital assets, migration to the enterprise platforms).

Must haves

-Proven success in a lead role leading software development (eg. identity and access management / APIs development / visualisation / dashboarding) efforts or implementing systems solutions at medium to large-scale () - 6+ years of leading Software Development projects with experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle ( SDLC) () -Excellent communication skills -Flexible mindset so can quickly adjust to new assignments -Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborations across technical and business teams -driven (self motivated) problem solver who has ability to execute -proactive person not reactive -feeling comfortable when dealing with ambiguity -strong inner drive and willingness to learn -Proficient with Atlassian suite: JIRA & Confluence. () -able to proactively work with the team and stakeholders to resolve problems and project roadblocks -well-organized, able to bring the structured and disciplined approach -solid experience working with architecture & engineering teams to break down required work in backlog items, assess and size story/epics within backlogs -Excellent understanding of agile methodologies and ways-of-working; certification desired (e.g. PMI-ACP, from Scrum.Org, or SAFe) () -long-standing expertise in stakeholder engagement and management; ability to obtain buy-in by stakeholders from different levels and parts of the organization - Educational background: Ideally: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. ()

Tasks and responsibilities -As a Software/Architecture Project Lead, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.
  • You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.
  • explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
-Provide the required hands-on project management, cross-functional coordination, and communications to deliver outstanding project outcomes. -Work closely with software engineers, architects, product managers and other engineering teams to get high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle (build, test and release on time). -Manage project schedules, identify possible issues and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders. -Take responsibility for release schedules and milestones, keeping up a high velocity in a fast-paced environment. Accountable for the delivery and the results of the project. -Maintaining the plans up to date and keeping project team members accountable for delivery. -Lead several technical projects for the Architecture and Technology Office, leading cross-functional teams (architecture, engineering, product managers). -Facilitation of senior stakeholder interactions on behalf of a program -manage and coordinate the engineering development projects and facilitates sprint releases, creating the sprint plans, facilitating daily meetings etc -Track and monitor progress, be able to report on status in transparent way against project objectives. - Work with stakeholders to project scope, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop milestones to ensure timely completion of projects. -Create and maintain multiple, complex and concurrent project plans. -Oversee the change management needs required by project
