Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Newport Beach, California. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including reviewing and processing accounting documents related to projects, supporting projects with overall accounting and financial activities, and maintaining budgets. Responsibilities: Review and process accounting documents related to projects to ensure financial accuracy. Support projects with overall accounting and financial activities to measure and monitor project financial performance. Complete all postings, allocations, and payments for the project in accordance with financial guidelines. Coordinate with project team to reflect changes in project scope or timeline. Track budget variances, monitor expenses, and conduct research and analysis to optimize financial performance. Prepare financial reports and special projects as needed to support decision-making. Maintain budgets and follow project close-out guidelines to ensure financial compliance. Update invoice tracking spreadsheet and review AR ledger to ensure up-to-date records. Report to Accounting Manager to ensure alignment with broader financial strategy and goals. Initially focus on Accounts Payable (AP) with Accounts Receivable (AR) responsibilities added later. Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP to perform duties. Requirements Minimum of 1 year experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger management Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries Experience in Month End Close procedures Proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations Proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
