Project Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in architectural design and project management, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. The Project Architect will be responsible for overseeing all phases of architectural projects, from initial concept through to completion, ensuring that all designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for someone on a part-time basis to help with some of our workload. This is a contract-basis as an independent contractor. You can anticipate 1-3 projects per month. Project types will vary but will be primarily commercial tenant improvements and single family residential.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the design process from conceptual phase through construction documentation.

Coordinate with clients to define project requirements and objectives.

Prepare detailed architectural drawings and plans.

Collaborate with engineers and consultants to integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical requirements.

Oversee construction phases and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications.

Manage project budgets and schedules.

Ensure adherence to building codes, zoning laws, and industry standards.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architectural staff.

Ensure project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Review and approve contractor submittals and shop drawings.

Handle project-related communication and negotiations with clients and contractors.

Prepare detailed architectural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other CAD software.

Engage in business development activities to secure new projects and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field desired.

Proven experience in project management within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction management processes and practices.

Proficiency in architectural design software including AutoCAD and SketchUp.

Strong drafting skills with attention to detail in all aspects of design work.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
