Clinical Operations Transformation Project Manager

San Mateo, CA (Remote)

13 Month Contract

Overview: Clinical Operations Transformation Project Manager will report directly to the Global Clinical Operations Transformation Lead. They will be a member of the Global Clinical Operations Excellence team, an innovative and entrepreneurial department focused on driving solutions in Global Clinical Operations through process and technological advances. They will support cross-functional, company-wide transformational initiatives with project management end-to-end from ideation through implementation. Ensures sustainability and governance in transition to business owner upon delivery.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads transformational activities end-to-end.
  • Responsible for needs assessments, development and socializing consistent processes and tools for scope & resource, identify documents and risk analysis and related solutions, facilitate resolution of project conflicts, and deliver the assigned projects on time.
  • Actively work with business stakeholders on identifying business needs and requirements, analyzing system capabilities, and identifying gaps between business needs and existing processes and systems.
  • Ensure deliverables through project life cycle leveraging effective project management techniques and aids in implementation of an agile and innovation culture across functions.
  • Adhere to the implementation methodology for business requirements delivery through system based on cooperation with IT and vendor partners, i.e., initiation, requirements, design & configuration, issue management, launch and project closure.
  • Drives continuous improvement of methodologies, processes, templates, and toolkits for projects, establishes operating policies and procedures that affect projects
  • Act as a source of best practice guidance on agile and project management processes relating to project set up, overall and specific control during execution and close out activities
  • Design, develop, and implement change plans to address project needs and technical/process change impact, drive identification of stakeholders and business needs designed to help minimize the impact to the business.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with project management and document management tools including Smartsheet, MS Project, Visio, and MS Office suite of applications

Other Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with core biotech/pharmaceutical cloud platforms, software applications, and digital devices
  • Ability to effectively adapt, prioritize and execute tasks to achieve complex goals in a high-pressure and agile environment through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience implementing technology platforms, process, operations, tools, proof-of-concepts, and initiatives
  • Experience with digital devices, RWE, patient engagement techniques, and decentralized clinical trial capabilities
  • Accountability and shows initiative and leadership, displaying integrity, thriving in a team environment, and seeks excellence as the measure of success.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to conduct analysis and articulate results to stakeholders (e.g., laterally across peers, and upward to senior management) to ensure communication alignment with project objectives and business priorities.
  • Experience in managing shifts in competing priorities or unforeseen challenges, without compromising quality, attention to detail and timeline deliverables while successfully communicating and working with supervisor, team members and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and attention to detail are required as well as time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal key stakeholders and vendor partners
  • Ability to operate remotely, remain engaged, and collaborate in a global ecosystem

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences, computer science or management-related disciplines OR equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of experience with pharmaceutical or MedTech business; 6+ years project management experience in a cross-functional, global environment PMP, Agile certification is a plus
