DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Python Software Engineer for its Common Control System (CCS) Software Support Activity (SSA) software intensive program that provides simultaneous sortie planning, control, monitoring, and post-mission analysis of multiple unmanned systems (UxS) of either similar or dissimilar types from common software. The CCS software will be integral to the command and control (C2) system for each UxS. CCS is government owned and will be modular and scalable, and will enable rapid integration of future UxS capabilities across the Air, Surface, Undersea, and Land domains. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.JOB DESCRIPTION:The candidate Software Engineer must possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly to meet the needs of our dynamic, fast-paced development cycles. Candidate must have development experience using Python as the preferred programming language. Candidate must understand the software engineering "process" is as important as the technology for building valuable software products for our customers. The Software Engineer duties and responsibilities will include:

Analyze the needs of the customers, users, and other stakeholders

Design and develop technology solutions that are capable of addressing these needs

Support code to support enhanced system requirements for existing CCS interfaces

Maintain Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Interface Change Proposals (ICPs) enhancement requirements for CCS

Analyze and design object-oriented and service-oriented software solution

Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during development

Communicate and coordinating effectively with members of the development team

Work within the Agile development environment, take ownership of assigned sprint work, support tasks, and program initiatives

Effectively engage with the team in daily standups, planning, and other team meetings

Identify and communicate potential risks to program and propose mitigating solutions

Utilize SecDevOps best practices when planning, developing, or deploying solutions

Utilize SecDevOps best practices including continuous integration and deployment CI/CD

QualificationsRequired education and experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related major and two years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required skills:

3-5 years experience as a Software Engineering developing applications using PYTHON.

Required clearance:

Must have an active Secret security clearance.

Desired experience:

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) experience a plus.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
