Job Description:

In your role as a Quality Assurance Engineer on Flowserve's Nuclear Program, you will support the management of the Nuclear Quality Assurance Program at the Vernon facility. This is a varied and chlallenging role with a range of responsibilities related to nuclear quality system improvements, QMS improvements, supplier quality management processes, and internal audits. To be successful in the role, you will need a strong background in nuclear quality programs, experience within a large industrial manufacturing organization, be able to work with associates at all levels of the company (especially on the factory or office floor) and have experience with the manufacture of pumps and seals used in the nuclear industry.

Requirements

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Support Vernon's Nuclear Quality Program.
  • Support review of nuclear production orders
  • Support preparation of documentation for shipment of nuclear orders
  • Support audit preparation, facilitation, and response (internal, external agency, and Customer audits)
  • Facilitate NCR and MRB processes
  • Support and conduct operational audits
  • PO Review (Code and Safety-Related)
  • Review of Inspection Reports
  • Management of Supplier Deviation Requests

Requires the ability to:
  • Use project management tools to ensure effective and timely completion of project milestones.
  • Interface with Engineering, Nuclear Sales, and all Nuclear Customers.
  • Ensure export compliance.
  • Review Quality Plans for Nuclear orders.
  • Support maintenance of all quality certifications required for both commercial and nuclear orders (including ISO 9001 and ASME nuclear certificates).
  • Support the Vernon Internal Audit Program.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant Flowserve Global procedures and industry regulations/statutes/requirements.
  • Use detailed process mapping tools to define and analyze quality management workflows.
  • Interact with the functional areas including manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, production, and field service/repair to evaluate failure trends, product quality problems, and quality issues.
  • Evaluate existing quality processes and systems for effectiveness and improvement opportunities.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers on quality issues plus the resolution of any problems within a process and final product acceptance.
  • Provide input, guidance, and coaching to the site leadership team to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide quality support for in-process and final inspection to establish quality standards and customers' requirements.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with a wide variety of customers including both internal and external to Flowserve. Communicate effectively with associates at all levels, from the factory floor to executives at Flowserve and Customers.
  • Be able to perform and coach others in data analysis and perform root cause analysis.
