QA Game Tester

is needed for a contract opportunity with our client in the Entertainment industry

Hybrid Position 2-3 days onsite per week in Culver City, CA

  • 4 month contract

  • Up to $30 an hour based on experience

  • Onsite in Culver City, CA - 2-3 days per week

  • Must have Gaming experience

Responsibilities
  • Lead manual testing of game features across multiple platforms (PC, Mobile)
  • Help, coordinate and manage external QA testers on your project.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve best practices or optimize existing methods.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external QA to deliver high quality software
  • Identify, isolate, regress, and communicate issues/defects effectively and efficiently
  • Assist engineering, designers, and technical artists in reproducing defects and root cause analysis by with clear and concise documentation using Jira.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases using TestRail
  • Maintain documentation to transfer knowledge and provide mentorship to newer team members/external QA
  • Inform the production team of risk by communicating issues that may block or slow down software release as early as possible
  • Take on tasks as assigned by QA Lead or QA Management

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years software QA experience or 2+ years of Sr QA Tester experience.
  • Working knowledge of different test methodologies.
  • Ability to develop test plans and create test cases.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience testing on PC, Consoles, and mobile devices
  • Experience with JIRAand TestRail
  • In-depth understanding of the development cycle of a game
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well as an individual as well as with a team
  • Understanding of game testing processes and best practices
  • Understanding of game Development Lifecycles and project management methodologies
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision
  • Passion for games and demonstrable understanding of game industry and gaming trends
  • At least 1+ released game title
