Position Title: R&D Rework TechnicianLocation: San Jose, CA – candidate must be local and expect to work ONSITE 40 hours per week in a lab setting.Length of Assignment: 6 monthsProcess: First round phone screen with hiring manager for 30 minutes. Second round will be ONSITE with 1-2 other lab engineers/senior technicians for 1-1.5 hours. Client should be able to make a decision from that.Scope: Urgency is borne of just a very heavy workload. Client is a very large Telecommunications company in the Bay Area, and they have tons of product lines and projects running in parallel. Heavy work is going into Board Design right now, and hence they have bottlenecks on their technicians for reworking, debugging, and soldering. From the client: Position is the sole rework technician for our San Jose location, supporting HW, SW and systems teams to rework hardware and debug hardware issues.Duties: Perform all debugging and reworking for complex array of boards, and perform Fine Pitch SMT soldering.Necessary Skills/Must Have:- Must have excellent Manual Fine Pitch SMT soldering/rework skills. Work under microscope- Position is a critical resource to enable us to provide hardware for testing and demonstration purposes.- Build, rework and debug router reference designs, run WLAN testing to confirm reference design works, debug test issues, general lab work and maintenance.- Able to use a schematic and BOM in job functionsDesired Skills/Nice to have:-Position also assembles, configures and tests router reference designs for distribution to internal and external customers.- Run automated tests on PC and keep results logs- Work with electronic test instruments (multimeter, scope, sig gen, etc.)- Use MS Word and MS excel to document work
