Expectations:

Collaborates with the Prehospital Care Coordinator regarding prehospital quality improvement, education and case follow-up. Provides input and direction to quality improvement processes and provides prehospital education to staff and outside agencies. This position may require flexibility of hours.Education:Graduate from accredited nursing program.BSN required.Experience/Training:Minimum two years telemetry experience required.Minimum two years ED experience, required.Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems required.Excel experience required.Understanding of principles of adult learning, facilitation of learning and coaching/mentoring; experience as a class instructor/presenter, required (formal or informal).Licenses/Certifications:Current active unrestricted RN license issued by State of California.Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS Provider required.MICN required.Skills:For MICN:1. Demonstrates an understanding of the standards according to Los Angeles County (LACO) Guidelines of Prehospital Care.2. Participates in Quality Improvement process as required by LACO Base Station Contract.3. Maintains Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Certification Requirements and participates in continuing education efforts required by LACO Base Station Contract and Huntington Memorial Hospital Policy and Procedures.4. Communicates with Prehospital and Emergency Medical Services personnel in an objective manner and communicates with the Prehospital Care Coordinator regarding unresolved prehospital care issues.
