Description Leidos is currently seeking a part-time Research Associate who will provide support to Principal Investigators in the Health and Behavioral Sciences Program at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA. The Research Assistant will work collaboratively with the full research team, including Principal Investigators, research scientists, data analysts, research study coordinators, research assistants, and subject matter experts. The Research Associate will assist with all aspects of a funded research project designed to assess sources of stress and mental and behavioral health outcomes in shipboard environments. The successful candidate will be organized, able to take initiative, and work well both independently and as part of a research team. In addition, they will have demonstrated excellent communication skills needed to successfully interact with a variety of people, including high-level military personnel. This part-time position will have variable hours (minimum 12 hours per week and maximum 29 hours per week). Position Responsibilities
Assist with the management of operations workflow by developing schedules, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures
Prepare project documentation materials, such as Institutional Review Board protocols, data sharing agreements, and survey approval forms
Assist in refinement of study measures, such as questionnaire items and interview questions
Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Administer questionnaires and conduct interviews
Assist in editing study materials, reports, and manuscripts
Conduct literature searches and summarize findings of published studies
Maintain study documentation, such as study progress documents, equipment storage logs, one-pagers, and brief documentation
Perform data entry and data validation
Review, prepare, and contribute to project materials, reports, and manuscripts
Participate collaboratively in team meetings
Generate tables, graphs, and other simple data visualizations for inclusion in disseminated products
Participate in ongoing trainings related to the proper conduct of research
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health or related discipline
A minimum of 1 year of professional experience
Demonstrated knowledge of military culture and military operational environments
Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience interacting effectively with diverse groups, including military populations
Ability to follow detailed instructions
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Pay Range:Pay Range $53,300.00 - $82,000.00 - $110,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
